Beskrivelse:

It was a hometown gig for Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel when they performed at the Camden Palace for the Live From London series. Recorded in 1984 in front of a very vocal audience, Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel capture the spirit of the 70s with their hits Sebastian, Here Comes The Sun and the million-selling single Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me). An accomplished singer/songwriter, Harley's performance highlights his incredible talent and his ability to play crowd pleasing hits. Sleeve Notes (Extract): The London folk clubs are where he began to make a name for himself singing for free or floor-spotting at venues like Les Cousins, Bunjies's and The Troubadour. Odin was the first band he joined, as co-singer and rhythm guitarist but he soon tired of the folk scene and wanted to move in his own direction and so formed Cockney Rebel with violinist John Crocker and begin utilising the songs he had written. Steve became acquainted with drummer Stuart Elliott at this time, who has played on occasion with Cockney Rebel since. EMI signed Cockney Rebel in 1972 and they released their first studio album The Human Menagerie early the following year. The track Sebastian was a big hit across Europe especially in Holland and Belgium where it was number one in the charts for several weeks. The band went on to release a second album The Psychomodo before splitting up in 1974. But the split was really just the beginning and Harley along with drummer Stuart Elliot continued, renaming the band Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel and it was from their next album The Best Years Of Our Lives that the single Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me) was released selling well over a million copies. More chart singles followed including; Judy Teen , Mr Soft and two more top twenty hits; Mr Raffles and Here Comes The Sun . Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me) has been covered over 100 times in many different languages, it has also featured in the movies The Full Monty(1997) and Velvet Goldmine (1998). Artists: Steve Harley - vocals / guitar, Kevin Powell - bass, Ian Keller - keyboards, Barry Wickens - violin, Rick Driscoll and Andy Darby - guitar Lindsay Elliott - drums, Martin Jay and Suzanne Murphy - backing vocals Bonus Feature: Never before seen photo gallery of the band's performance.Track Listing: 1.
