Vikings er historien om den heltemodige Ragnar Lothbroks vilde eskapader. Serien følger historien om Ragnar, hans vikingebrødre og familie, imens han avancerer til vikingekonge.
Udover at være en frygtløs kriger, er Ragnar hengiven overfor de nordiske guder - og myten fortæller at Ragnar var direkte efterkommer af krigsguden Odin. Vikingernes verden bliver vækket til live af Ragnar Lothbrok - en legende i den nordiske mytologi.

The first series of the historical drama following the adventures of a Viking clan. Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) is the central character of the show, a Viking chieftain who along with his brother Rollo (Clive Standen) and wife Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) plots to become king of all the Vikings. A formidable warrior, Ragnar often leads his men on raids oversees. However, even as he makes a name for himself on the battlefield, Ragnar must be aware of rivals plotting behind his back in his homeland.
