Mario Bava, Italy's premier horror master, skilfully directs this violent occult murder mystery. The inhabitants of a modern day Carpathian village are terrified for their lives as a series of ghastly murders rock the village. The killer demon is the vengeful ghost of Baroness Graps' murdered daughter, Melissa, who wants to collect all of the souls of the hapless villagers.
