Protean comic actor who first came to attention on the popular radio series "The Goon Show", a precursor to both "Beyond the Fringe" and "Monty Python's Flying Circus", Peter Sellers made his screen debut in 1951 and got his first break playing a dogmatic union man in "I'm All Right, Jack". This led to starring in many films that showed off his extreme comic ability and his remarkable gift for character transformation to its fullest. In 1963, Sellers starred in the first installment of the hugely popular "Pink Panther" series, introducing the loveable Inspector Clouseau, a character that made him a celebrated international star often credited as the greatest comedian of all times.
A librarian yearns to escape from a dispiriting conspiracy of cramped rooms, harassing wife and nerve-twisting children. He is acutely aware that life has lost its magic, but then he meets the wealthy wife of an influential businessman. |
