This is the story of Abib - a rather naughty, but at the same time loveable, donkey who carried Baby Jesus' Mother Mary all the way to Bethlehem.
When King Herod ordered everyone to return to the place of their birth, all the camels and horses were very quickly taken leaving a rather motley array of animals including Abib. Abib did his utmost to avoid selection as he was also rather lazy but when Joseph arrived he was the only animal left.
Abib soon realised that this was no ordinary journey and, helped by his friends Jaffar the Camel and Orion the Horse, he bravely fought off King Herod's soldiers and, like the three wise men, followed the star to Bethlehem where Mary gave birth to the little Baby Jesus.
This humorous and modern re-telling of the greatest story ever told is sure to delight time and time again! |
