On The Waterfront (1954)
Marlon Brando gives one of the screen's most electrifying performances as Best Actor in this 1954 Academy Award winner for Best Film. Ex-fighter Terry Malloy (Brando) could have been a contender, but now toils for boss Johnny Friendly (Lee J. Cobb) on the gang-ridden waterfront. Terry is guilt-stricken, however, when he lures a rebellious worker to his death. But it takes the love of Edie Doyle (Eva Marie Saint), the dead man's sister, to show Terry how low he has fallen.
The Wild One (1953)
Johnny's (Brando) motorcycle club roams the countryside terrorizing one small-town after another. His gang of forty vicious hoodlums resents discipline, challenges authority and mocks convention. Riding into yet another township, they vandalize stores and trample private property. Meanwhile, Johnny romances Kathie, the pretty but repressed daughter of a local police officer. But when the gang spins out of control, an innocent man is accidentally killed and Johnny becomes the scapegoat.
Chase (1966)
The moral foundation of a small Texas town is torn apart in this explosive drama about power and greed, starring Marlon Brando, Robert Redford, and Jane Fonda. Sheriff Calder (Brando) isn't the only person chasing Bubber Reeves (Redford) when he escapes from prison. Oil and cattle baron Val Rogers wants Bubber out of the way to cover up the love affair his son Jason is having with Bubber's wife (Fonda). THE CHASE is on. |
