Australien, 1974. Den ukendte australske promotor Rod har lavet sit livs scoop: en koncert-turné med selveste Old Blue Eyes - Frank Sinatra, verdens bedste, mest berømte og absolut hotteste entertainer. Men da Sinatras privatfly lander i Sidney, formår en lokal kvindelig journalist at pisse så meget på hans sukkermad, at han kommer til at kalde hende for en billig luder.
Ups! Sådan en storsnudet amerikaner skal sgu ikke bare komme til Australien og tro, at han er noget. Skandalepressen fråder, fagforeningerne farer op på barrikaderne - og før end man kan nå at sinatra, er der et syndigt rod i jubelfesten.

It's 1974 and Rod Blue (Joel Edgerton) is a down-on-his luck Australian rock promoter who finally secures the coup of his career - Frank Sinatra's comeback tour in Australia.
But things don't go according to plan when Sinatra (Dennis Hopper) lands in Sydney. Ol' Blue Eyes manages to offend the entire Australian public and ends up a hostage with his girlfriend (Melanie Griffith) in his hotel room.
But the show must go on and Rod and his assistant (Rose Byrne) must do whatever it takes to keep the peace... but has the man who went all the way finally gone too far? |
