Sammy Davis JR Mr Wonderful, A True all Round Entertainer... A true all round entertainer - comedian, dancer and singer-Sammy Davis Jr. was born into a showbiz family and made his stage debut at the tender age of three. His recording career began in 1954 when he signed to Decca Records and released an album that reached the coveted number one spot in the American charts. Nothing could dull his zest for performing and partying, even losing an eye in a near fatal road accident only kept him off stage for six weeks! His Broadway debut "Mr Wonderful" ran for nearly 400 performances and gave him two hit singles. His antics as a member of the Rat Pack often overshadowed his immense talent, and despite dying penniless he leaves a legacy of wonderful films and albums.
